Time for a contest

So what happens when you start knitting just one thing on 1/1/08? Say of instance an obsessive sock knitter decided to knit baby socks. And this obsessive sock knitter knit nothing but baby socks for 20 days straight? If she worked 60 hours a week and squeezed in knitting around that schedule how many pair of baby socks do you think she's be able to finish to mail off to Afghans for Afghans? Take a guess. Winner will be drawn on Friday 1/25/08 at 12 est.

Well, I'm guessing 50 because they are tiny and probably quick and addictive to knit. :)

I'm going with 30! Baby socks are so fun to knit.

I'm going to guess 25. Even though they're tiny, 60 hours a week is a big chunk of time. Baby socks are fun though.

I know there are more pairs than one can see and my other guesses were guessed already... so I will go with 15 pairs of socks. Nice job! I too love knitting kid sized socks!

I'll guess 29 pairs because no one else has put that number in yet! Good work!

I'm going to say 22 pairs (but only because someone else already guessed 21!)

I'll go with 44 pair. A lot I know, but I'm an obsessive and so I'm figuring you can do it.

21 is my lucky number, so that's my guess.

Good for you, however many there are!

I am thinking maybe 24 pairs - and what fun for a great cause :)

I'll try 39.

If more than one person can guess the same number, I'll go with 29. If not, it looks like 31 is still free to I'll go with that.

You didn't say whether the person with the correct guess won, and if so, how you would resolve ties.

It looks like my lucky number has been guessed already, but I have to stick with it anyway since it sounds like a reasonable answer: 24 pairs of baby socks.

I'm guess 17 pairs because 17's my significant number. :)

Being a compulsive knitter myself, I figure 2 pair per night since they're tiny, plus a few more.

I'll try 43 since it's not taken yet

I'm thinking 38. just seems like a nice round number.

Ooo, fun contest. Okay, I'm guessing 53 pairs of socks. What a great idea! Do you use a special pattern, or do you just "wing-it"? That's such a great idea for left-over sock yarn.

Heide said...

My guess is 28 pairs. I now have an urge to knit little socks too! Very sweet.

I'll guess 36 pair. What a cute contest.

I'll say......43 pair

23 pairs. Random number that came into my head. Also, I thought the dishcloth swap thing was cool, too bad I heard about it AFTER registration closed. I only started knitting them recently, anyway. I'm currently test knitting a pattern, and that's fun. Baby socks must be kind of like dishcloths: instant gratification, and a weird feeling of nesting-ness. And babies don't even like me, and I'm terrible at anything homey-related. Go figure.

Goodness I think most of the numbers have shown up at least twice!

Hmm, well my b-day is 3/31 and I'll be 27. My sweeties is 4/20 & he'll be 36. I think most of those numbers are taken, soo I'll just go with...13 because it is a fun number.

Btw, I haven't learned to knit on needles, yet. I loom knit, hairpin lace, and Tunisian crochet.
