It's so upsetting

when your town ends up on the cover of the US page on cnn.com The police chief said it the best. "In Cheshire we're not used to this type of event. It's a very unfortunate, tragic event that's probably going to reach right down to the core of the community."

I kinda scares me that this is the world my daughters are growing up in.

Bad things happen everywhere but that reality always creeps me out whenever it happens too close to home.

All we can do is continue to try to be good people and remain hopeful...

What a horrifying thing. I have been having trouble sleeping since it happened and it's the next town over for me. I keep wondering if they picked their house at random or if they knew them. Very tragic. I don't know how the father will cope with losing his whole family like that.

It becomes very real when it ahppens nearby, doesn't it? It is too bad this world contains such evil beings. . . . And, on another note, I just got your comment and I do think those pumpkins vines overtake the house. One has grown right to the top of the kitchen window and there are three new pumpkins on the patio, not to mention that the vines are still creeping further and further. There could be pumpking climbing to the roof top by Halloween. (knittingbymoonlight.blogspot.com)

I think they followed the girls home from the grocery store and then went back later - they PLANNED it! that is the really SICK part. My heart aches for the dad.

That is so sad. It is amazing how little some people value human life.

OMG this was near you?!?! I saw this on the news and felt so badly this happened. It just brings it that much closer when it happens in a town where you KNOW somebody! I'm so sorry....

Yes, that was such a hideous, horrid crime, I am so sorry for the pain it must be causing all of you.

I too, live in a small town and can't even imagine the pain this has caused all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Take care.
